Darshan: Photographic Series on Indian Deities

I have been looking at portfolios and the art of many aspiring professionals, but a lack of innovation and sincerity in their work has left me wanting. I took to Kickstarter and browsed through their projects, many of which are messy and in need of style and panache to get me desiring to get involved. One however, did stand out. Darshan: Photographic Series on Indian Deities. From New York based photographer Manjari Sharma the idea is to recreate, from scratch, nine classical images of Indian deities. From Manjari’s experience, education of Hinduism and her life in India, this hasn’t been done before. I think it would be an exceptional piece of work, based upon the one image (below) that she has already created. Also to be noted is the perfect video explaining the project something others need to get a hang of. From where I’m sitting Manjari Sharma sets the bar high on all future photography projects on Kickstarter and it would be a shame if this entire collection didn’t come to life. Head over to her page to contribute to the project.
