Audio/ Visual ideas & goings on.
This is my kind of film, totally surreal with some interesting creative effects that are as much a part of the film as the actors and narrative. The synopsis is simple, Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera), a twenty-two year old bass player must defeat his girlfriend’s, Romona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), seven X’s.
It is a fun and fanciful experience with brilliant and immaculate design, sound and acting. Directed by Brit Edgar Wright the film has many characteristics of his other big films, e.g quick camera work and repeated dialogue found in “Hot Fuzz” and “Shaun of the Dead”.
Full of quirkiness and imagination this has got to be one of my most favoured inspirational films. For sheer quality of production and ideas this is one that family can enjoy.
