Audio/ Visual ideas & goings on.
A good effort at a paranormal horror/ thriller, though the use of too many cliché performance and production techniques make the overall experience mediocre at best. Suspected key plot pieces are introduced early on although they lead nowhere. Whilst the shaky, hand held camera throughout with little to no differential between “non-thriller moments” and those supposed to fill us with suspense and thrill.
The rhythm seems to be off which makes viewing clunky, unnatural and somewhat irritating. Eventually the plot builds and some narrative development prevails over the eccentric and amateur cinematography. It seems to want to combine the best thriller, emotional and horror elements from the most successful movies in the genre. Sadly it falls short and I don’t know where it would fit in to even the worst Halloween horror movie nights.
