Odd yet moving; with fanciful extravagances fused with socially critical and emotional phrases. The plot is entertaining as it traces the mindset of our ‘supposive’ accidental hero, Bob Maconel (Christian Slater). Struggling with the social side of work, Bob plans to take action against his co-workers and boss as well as himself. Though through a series of events his life is turned around and he becomes romantically involved with the most desired woman in the office. It is heart-warming whilst challenging perceptions of acceptance and social structures in the workplace. It does have a focus on life as a quadriplegic though this is not the main point of the movie. Overall it is entertaining, (in the visuals we come into inside Bob’s Mind) and a bit different than your usual social observation piece. It even has a talking fish.
