Audio/ Visual ideas & goings on.
Well this is probably one of the most heart wrenching films I have ever seen, yet I loved it. It is about children who grow up through a system where they are aware that they have been created to provide organs for others, no-one in-particular, it isn’t “My Sisters Keeper”. What is so astonishing and what makes this film so perfect, is that it takes an idea, a social, ethical and moral debate and turns it around to the simple questions of life. The last line of the film sums it up…
…”we all complete. Maybe none of us really understand what we’ve lived through, or feel we’ve had enough time.”
It is, despite its emotional toll, a must see for everyone. Though some have said it’s not as good as the book by Kazuo Ishiguro, I’m not much of a reader and would rank this in my top 10 movies of all time.
